The Dacia Duster is the first crossover SUV developed by the Romanian automaker Automobile Dacia. Officially revealed on 8 December 2009, it became available in Europe from 18 March 2010.Based on the Nissan B0 platform, the Duster measures 4.31 metres (169.7 in) in length, 1.82 metres (71.7 in) in width and has 210 mm (8.3 in) of ground clearance. Its luggage space has a volume of up to 475 litres (16.8 cu ft), while with the rear benchseat folded and tipped forward, its carrying ability can exceed 1,600 litres (57 cu ft).

The Duster is offered with two-wheel or four-wheel drive. The 4x4 variants make use of Nissan's all-wheel drive system^[2] which allows the driver to choose from three different driving modes: Auto, in which the front/rear torque split is calculated automatically as a function of available grip, Lock, whereby 50 per cent of torque is consistently fed through the rear axle, and 4x2 where the transmission is locked into two-wheel drive for maximum fuel efficiency.

Dacia Duster features Bosch 8.1 ABS, as well as EBD electronic brakeforce distribution and EBA emergency brake assist. It also features ESC electronic stability control as an option on certain versions, as well as CSV understeer control and ASR traction control. This option also allows torque to be transferred away from a spinning wheel in 4x4 mode to improve traction when diagonal wheel spin occurs.On the passive safety front, Dacia Duster comes as standard with two front airbags (depending on market) and three-point seat belts with load limiters for the front seats. Depending on version, two lateral head/thorax airbags are fitted in addition to the driver and passenger front airbags to provide additional protection in the case of side impact. Pyrotechnic pretensioners for the front seats (depending on version) complete Dacia Duster's retention system.

A competition version of the Dacia Duster fitted with a 350 hp (261 kW) V6 engine and driven by Alain Prost took part in the 2009/2010 French ice racing championship Trophée Andros, finishing in second place.

In 2010, the Dacia Duster participated in the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles, being first in the crossover class. The two Dacia teams successfully finished the Rallye on board the Duster: Dounia and Isabelle (Team 315 - Dacia) were first in the general ranking, while Nathalie and Dorothée (Team 316 - Dacia) finished in 5th place (out of 8 teams competing in the class).

In 2011, Dacia announced that they would be racing the Dacia Duster in the "Unlimited Class" of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb/ The Dacia Duster 'No Limit' that they will be using will be powered by an 850 bhp version of the VR38DETT engine used in the Nissan GT-R mated to a six-speed sequential transmission. The car is tuned by Tork Engineering, Sodemo and Renaultsport and will be driven by three-time Trophee Andros winner Jean-Phillipe Dayraut.

Following in the footsteps of Elia, German aftermarket specialists at Eibach and Giacuzzo Design teamed up to create a tuning package for the Dacia Duster SUV. The two companies opted for light modifications in order to stick to the basic character of the Duster and to make sure the price of the tuning package would remain affordable for the car's target group.
An expert in suspensions, Eibach fitted the car with its Pro-Kit Performance Springs, which lower the ride height by 30 mm to improve handling and provide a more aggressive stance. Giacuzzo Design then took over and fitted the Dacia with 20-inch Shark wheels made by Alutec. The rims are painted in black and white and are shod in wide Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires (245/35R20). The tuner takes great pride in the fact that the wheel-tire combination is one of the largest ever seen on the Duster. However, we're not convinced they are the right choice for this type of car, but tastes differ.
Moving on to the front end of the car, there's a bull bar made of polished stainless steel with the company claiming it's "constructed to provide optimum pedestrian protection". We can’t vouch for that, but it surely fits the car's off-road character. Similar bars are fitted to the rocket panels, while the lower part of the rear bumper has been modified to accommodate a double-end rear muffler made of polished stainless steel.

The Dacia Logan is a car produced jointly by the French manufacturer Renault and its subsidiary Dacia of Romania. It is manufactured at Dacia's automobile plant in Mioveni, Romania, in Colombia, Brazil, Russia, Morocco, Iran, India and South Africa. It is also marketed as the Renault Logan, Nissan Aprio or Tondar 90 depending on the existing presence or positioning of the Renault brand.

The Logan MCV (Multi Convivial Vehicle), launched at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, is the station wagon version of the Logan. It has five or seven seat versions, with a luggage space that varies between 200 and 2350 litres depending on how many seats are folded, as well as numerous storage spaces for smaller objects.

Depending on equipment level, standard on some variants and optional on others, Dacia New Logan comes with up to four airbags. In terms of active safety, all versions of New Dacia Logan features the latest-generation Bosch 8.1 ABS which incorporates EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and EBA (Emergency Brake Assist).

It has 50% fewer parts than a high-end Renault vehicle and has a limited number of electronic devices. In addition to making the car less costly to produce, this also makes it easier and cheaper to repair.

In 2011, Renault will begin production of the Duster at its Curitiba plant in Brazil for distribution in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Chile, while at a later date, the Duster will go on to be manufactured at the Avtoframos plant in Moscow, Russia.

The Duster concept car had a Dacia Logan 1.5 litre inline-4 engine equipped with Bosch Mono-Jetronic fuel injection producing 106 PS (78 kW; 105 hp) at 5400 rpm and 240 newton metres (180 ft·lbf) at 2000 rpm of torque. It was a front engined, two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive vehicle based on the Nissan B platform. It accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.6 seconds. If the model had been produced, its initial price would have been around 15,000 euro (US$ 18,750).

The Dacia Sandero is a five door hatchback car produced jointly by the French manufacturer Renault and its subsidiary Dacia of Romania. The Sandero is based on the Logan.With a slightly shorter than the sedan from which it derives, the Sandero was developed in France by Technocentre – in conjunction with Brazilian and Romanian teams. After its development, the Sandero made its formal market debut in Brazil as a Renault model in December 2007 – the first Renault model to debut outside Europe. Launched subsequently in Europe in June 2008, Renault began manufacturing the Sandero in South Africa in February 2009 and, in December 2009, in Russia. A Renault version is also manufactured in Colombia for its home market and for export to countries including Chile. On the passive safety front, Sandero has been designed to meet the requirements of European regulations. Depending on equipment level, Dacia Sandero comes with up to four airbags. In terms of active safety Dacia Sandero features the latest-generation Bosch 8.1 ABS which incorporates EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and EBA (Emergency Brake Assist). Euro NCAP rated the Dacia Sandero fitted with the basic level of safety equipment and also crash tested the car equipped with the 'safety pack', which is standard on some variants, and optional on others. The crash test for basic level Dacia Sandero equipped with front seatbelt load limiters, driver frontal airbag and front passenger frontal airbag, scored 3 stars for adults, 4 stars for children occupants and 1 star for pedestrians. The EuroNCAP test for the 'safety pack' model equipped with side body and head airbags and front seatbelt pretensioners, received a score of 31 for adults, 38 for children occupants and 6 for pedestrians, these results being rated as 4 from 5 stars for adults and children occupants.

Renault do Brasil, which is the Brazilian outfit of French car manufacturer Renault, released in October 2008 the Sandero based crossover mini SUV Stepway, ten months after launching the Sandero brand there. The Brazilian Stepway has a 1.6-litre 112 bhp (84 kW; 114 PS) 16 valve engine, the Hi-Flex one with bio-ethanol abilities, and it is marketed in Brazil, Colombia, Argentina and Mexico. The European version, unveiled on May 7, 2009 at Barcelona International Motor Show under the Dacia brand, is available in most of the European markets as of September 2009. Dacia Sandero Stepway comes with a 1.6-liter and 90 bhp (67 kW; 91 PS) petrol engine or 1.5 dCi 70 bhp (52 kW; 71 PS) diesel engine. The Sandero was a constant gag on Top Gear in Series 11 and 12. After Dacia sent the show a press kit, presenter James May (who genuinely likes the car) would bring up "Great News!" about the Sandero, with Jeremy Clarkson quickly changing the topic. After a few series, Jeremy had switched places with James, who would then try to ignore him and pretend to know nothing on the subject. In the first episode of Series 13 Jeremy says "We have some bad news", then James asks "The Dacia Sandero?", Jeremy says no. Afterwards the car wasn't mentioned in the season. In Series 14, during a visit to Romania, Clarkson bought May a used Sandero as a gift. After returning from a test drive James May parked the car behind an idling lorry, and exited. As James praised the car to his co-presenters the Lorry reversed into the Sandero, damaging the passenger side. The joke was continued in Series 15, except this time referring to the Dacia Duster.
